Official Pressure Tests and Inspections

A pressure test and inspection can be performed by our qualified personnel in about an hour. When properly performed, it should cost about $275.00 (two hundred seventy five dollars) and include the following:
  • Visual and operational inspection of the boiler, safety, and support equipment
  • Proper hydrostatic pressure test of the concealed radiant panel tubing and boiler systems to determine if any leaks are present
  • 4-5 page report listing the test results. This should include the tubing "type", i.e., copper, steel, plastic and provide helpful comments and recommendations for the system
  • For home sales, we include a one hour free orientation and consultation for the buyer on system operation and maintenance once they have occupied the residence (for local properties only, within 20 miles) .
For maintenance purposes, we recommend, along with most equipment manufacturers, an inspection be performed yearly to monitor safe and proper operation of the heating system. It is true when operating properly, hydronic systems are very self sufficient and can run for much longer periods of time, trouble free. Nevertheless, routine checkups are a very good investment considering the boiler is a burning appliance that can be potentially hazardous if not maintained properly. Plus "preventative maintenance" practices will identify an improper condition and add many years of life and efficient performance to the boiler and tubing system. The following conditions always warrant a pressure test:
  1. Whenever the home is sold OR every two years
  2. Whenever a service person suspects a leak in the concealed tubing system
  3. Whenever you remodel or replace any floor coverings
  4. Whenever any slab penetration is required, for example, drilling for termites or injection of pesticides
