COMFORTABLE
The heat is evenly radiated throughout the floor and room. There are no fans to force air movement. The heated area is kept at the floor level around the objects and people to be heated. Inversely, the ceiling temperature becomes cooler than the heated floor area by a few degrees. While these low temperatures greatly reduce unnecessary heat losses, this arrangement ensures every corner of the room is consistently maintained within one degree of air temperature. This allows you to sit next to a window, in the middle of the room, or walk about from room to room with little temperature variation. In forced-air systems, the temperature difference between the ceiling and living environment within the room can be 60 degrees since the warm air is introduced from 110-115 degrees F. This difference results in drafts, uneven heating, inefficiency, increased fuel costs, and poor management of room temperatures.
CLEAN AND HEALTHY
Since the radiant heating system does not rely on fans to distribute the heat around the living environment, circulation of dust and other airborne particles is prevented. All people benefit from this friendly environment but especially those who have allergies or sensitivity to common airborne contaminants.
QUIET
The system is completely silent during operation in the house without noise such as generated by fans and blowers in a forced-air system. New boiler systems and pumping equipment runs silent enough to be installed in the house even near bedrooms.
AESTHETICS
Enjoy uncluttered floor space , unsightly air ducts, and decorating freedom. You need not worry where you place furniture to accommodate the heating system.
ENERGY EFFICIENT
Although the initial investment is slightly higher, your money comes back to you through ongoing savings in fuel costs. Heat loss by air infiltration and through windows is greatly reduced. Radiant energy doesn’t collect at the ceiling, along the walls, and around windows like forced air heating systems do. Your thermostat(s) can be set lower while maintaining the same level of warmth and comfort in your home. An effective system design by ANDERSON RADIANT HEATING, combined with todays increasing standards of building insulation, allows clients to enjoy higher fuel efficiency and lower fuel costs which reduce heating bills over other conventional heating systems.
COST EFFECTIVE
With all parameters being equal, a house heated by hydronic radiant panel heating system will use 25-50% less fuel to provide a comfortable and stable living environment, assuming the home or building is to be heated to a comfortable level and is able to meet all required design conditions as dictated by State requirements. Fuel cost reductions are obtained through zoning, high efficiency boilers, heat loss reduction, and lower thermostat settings. With our systems, you live more comfortably by “lowering” your thermostat. The lower thermostat settings relate directly to lower fuel costs. Most people with radiant heat systems live very comfortably with the thermostat settings of 65-68 degrees F. In a warm-air heated home, you can experience cold and uncomfort with a thermostat setting of 70 Degrees F. or more. In a radiant panel home, one will find themselves too warm or even hot at these settings.
ZONABLE
You are able to choose the rooms or areas of the home or building which are to be heated and to what desired temperature. Multiple thermostats or floor sensors can be installed to control different areas which may require more or less heat. Warm-air systems have only recently developed zoning capabilities by means of dampers for the residential home. These systems are rarely installed in the smaller 1500-2500sq. ft. home due to the controlling difficulty, increased cost, complicated support equipment, and additional space requirements. Remember, a small 3/4″ zoned pipe requires much less space to install than a large 8″ warm-air duct.
LONGEVITY
Proven trouble-free equipment and design. The distribution tubing system, if composed of the best choice materials such as Type L copper and installed properly, will easily last the lifetime of the structure it is installed in. A good quality copper or cast iron boiler can easily last 35-75 years in a closed loop hydronic radiant panel heating system. This is double or triple the life of the average warm air furnace.
LOW MAINTAINENCE
There are no filters to change, motors to oil, belts to replace, or ducts to clean. Just routine periodic checks of the system will guarantee enduring performance and operation. With all conditions proper, a hydronic heating system can operate for many years without any required service.
FLEXIBILITY
Radiant panel systems are flexible with all types of structures and can easily be incorporated into any architectural design and concept.
SAFETY
All equipment is tested and approved by Governing Agencies. Modern boiler safety and support equipment advances and standards provide ever increasing safety and control of the systems. Redundant safety measures assure that every radiant panel heating system installed by ANDERSON RADIANT HEATING is as safe as can be.
